June turned out to be a real bust. We were supposed to go to the coast and spend a few days with Mike’s brother and his family but the day before they left we both got sick. And that nasty bug hung on for about three weeks so we didn’t do too much. We did attend a two-day Book Marketing Boot Camp put on by our friend Lynne Klippel and got lots of ideas for promoting Mike’s books...Read more
Well, only a month late as these are our May adventures.
Several months ago a handful of friends met for lunch. This was the beginning of the Cuenca Lunch Bunch, a group of friends who meet for lunch the first Wednesday of every month. We are not a club or organization, just a group of friends who enjoy each other’s company. One month we might have 5 people attend and the next we might have 16...Read more

The month was filled, as usual, with all sorts of activities from lunches with friends to watching impromptu parades.

Plus, we have both been busy getting ready for the 2016 Cuenca International Writer Conference. This is the first conference in what we are hoping will be many, many more...Read more
It’s hard to believe we have been here over a year now! We flew in to Guayaquil on December 31, 2014 to the spectacle of fireworks bursting everywhere. It was around 11:00pm as we made the descent into the airport and took a taxi the short distance to our hotel. We stood at the window in our room watching the explosions all around us...Read more
Boy, what a wild ride 2015 has been! Our move to Ecuador in March has been everything we hoped it would be. We have enjoyed meeting so many people, both Ecuadorians and Expats alike. We have enjoyed immersing ourselves into a new culture that is both exciting and frustrating.
December was sort of a mixed bag for us...Read more
